End of an Era:

As many have noticed, updating this site has taken a back seat to other priorties this past year.  With the explosion of charity games and their juicy prospects, area home games are reverting back to the social gathering of a few friends.  They are no longer the place to go to compete and win large sums of money (especially at Crackawood with the high caliber of play given the lower stakes).

With that being said, I've decided not to renew the contract on www.ckbandit.com after it expires in January of 2010.  I want to thank everyone that has contributed to the growth of the site and have played in my homegames.  Since 2005, this site has been the catalyst that has introduced me to many of West Michigan's poker players and also several good friends.

I will continue to keep the forum alive with the latest happenings.  I'll also start utilizing my Facebook and Twitter (ckunze) accounts to alert those of potential games.

12/06/11 - Resurrected!!!!  Welcome Back

With a little more time and a lot less stress in my life, I've decided to renew the domain name and start updating this site a little. I'm not going to jump in and resume tracking player statistics and list all local games as I did in the past. If the interest builds, I may do that again. For now, I'll just gradually change the layout and use this as a tool to post my games as well as for you to reserve your seat. So...welcome back.

I'm throwing out a feeler to see how many I could get for a Saturday evening game this weekend (Dec 10th, 7pm). I realize the holiday season is upon us and not many people are available to play. However, I won't have many (if any) times free until after the new year to host again.

I have 2 options in mind:

1. A $10+5 or $20+10 bounty tournament: Total buy-in would either be $15 or $30 depending on the stakes participants want to play. For every player you eliminate, you earn $5 or 10, plus the standard payouts.

2. A $5 unlimited rebuy: Buy-in would be $5. Players start with the standard 1000 in chips. During the first hour of play (first 3 blind levels) you can rebuy 1000 chips for $5 anytime you dip below the starting stack of 1000. If you go broke, you can rebuy. After the first hour, all players can purchase an add-on ($5 for 1000 chips) regardless of your stack size. Play then commences with standard payouts. For reference, in the past, we've had 6 players generate over $200 cash in the pool from rebuys (most were probably from me). The player that won, spent only $10 (initial buy-in and add-on).

If you can make it, let me know what game/stakes you prefer. If 7pm doesn't work, I can push it an hour or two ahead/back. You're also welcome to bring a friend. Just let me know so I can set up accordingly.

I'll follow up with those interested by Thursday evening to confirm that the game is on and what event will be played. You can also check the scrolling banner in the top left of the main page for the latest update. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

If I don't talk to you before the hoidays, have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
